Regional Government Junta de Andalucia want to do the famous mosque of Cordoba to a historical monument. The Spanish Mosque or Cathedral of Cordoba has been considered as a Catholic monument since 1882 under King Alfonso XII’s reign.

UNESCO considers the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba as a World Heritage Site which is one of the most visited monuments in Spain. Now a controversy emerged how the building should be administered, in this case through the Andalucia government or the Catholic Church.
The controversy began earlier in the social networks where demands emerged that La Mezquita in Córdoba should be administered by the regional government Andalucia and not of the Diocese of Córdoba, Marbella apartments.

Newly formed the platform “Por una Mezquita Catedral de Todos,” A mosque-cathedral for everyone, where 80,000 signatures were collected in two weeks. Several members of the cultural elite as Antonio Gala, flamenco guitarist Manolo Sanlúcar, the Cervantes Prize winner José Manuel Caballero Bonald and former Director of Unescom Federico Mayor Zaragoza, has signed.

Nerja municipality stands to lose 2,200 residents if they do not renew their census registration. Scandinavians and other foreigners must census registration or renew their census registration (Padrón they Habitantes) in the municipality you live in.

Nerja municipality has recently sent out a press release that asks for that resident aliens must renew their census registration, or else risk 2200 to fall from the statistics which influences Nerja municipal services covered by Spanish government grants and services.
According to the press release from Nerja municipality must renewal of census registration done every two years.

A municipality of Nerja size gets 90 Euros in grants from the Spanish central government and the regional government for each census registration (Padron) in Nerja. A total of 200,000 Euros in grants goes to services such as doctors, police, schools, infrastructure and social services. Census registration can be done at Town Hall Foreigners Department.
